“Regina Coeli, latare!” (Oh Queen of Heaven, be joyful)… “Ave, Regina coelorum” (Queen of the heavens, we hail thee) “Thou the dawn, the door of morning Whence the world’s true light is risen.”[i]
Awaken the Heart Today, the power of that Image of the Mary, Queen of Heaven surrounded by star-halo who rises into heaven in both body and soul, (celebrated August 15th every year). Celebration in mid-winter (in the Northern Hemisphere) is the manifestation of peace and joy. [i]Saint Augustine’s Prayer Book – Rev. Ed. (Holy Cross Pub., 1967) p. 260
Inanna is from The Goddess Tarot by Kris Waldherr – U.S. Games Systems, Inc. Prior to Venus, Inanna, the Goddess of the Bronze Age (in Sumaria Eanna). Inanna travels to the underworld upon the invitation of her sister. As the evening star, Inanna through several gates to reach the underworld. At each gate, she must divest herself of all her possessions.
The energy or influence of the Star card can be to prepare us for the trip to the “underworld,” it is time to rid oneself of beliefs, actions, habits, and emotional responses that no longer serve us. Inana travels through the gates and has the choice to take up her earlier jewels, beliefs (wands), actions (swords), (pentacles) habits, and (emotional responses (or not – the Star reversed).
Time of Year Christians celebrate the Lenten disciplines (abstaining from unhealthy habits, such as meat, sweets, TV, etc., and replace with a healthier spiritual exercise such as meditation, daily mass, offices of the day, pray the psalter, etc.). The Lenten celebration begins with Ash Wednesday the symbolic reminder that you are entering the underworld “Dust thou art, and to dust thou shalt return.”
We invite energies greater than ourselves into personal reality. We accept the energy, stepping merrily into the future with inspiration. To make room for infinite possibilities and inspiration, transform old beliefs and strive for “perfection of the soul” through contemplative and mystical work, finally offering ourselves, knowing that energy is not destroyed. We are aware that as the heart awakens, new beliefs and paradigms will pave the path. Star power inspires. It is time make room by leaving non-productive beliefs or actions behind.
Be open to inspiration and new beliefs that better serve you.
Increase attributes that you would honor and take into our belief system, with the knowledge that it is working very well, or leave a particular belief at the gates of the underworld. Pay attention to the suits surrounding the star card in your reading. Is there an emotion that is tormenting you? Look at the cups. Is there a thought that keeps repeating without gratification (broken tapes)? Look at the swords. Is there a belief to which you are attached that no longer serves? (Personally, I believe in Santa Claus, but to many, that belief no longer serves them.) Look for wands. Science Finally we can correlate the Star card with astrology (Aquarius) and Science.
Once, the stars were holes in the fabric of the universe. Now, the (dark) fabric of the universe holds the stars in their place.
Astronomy today is attempting to identify the source of the universe. Theoretical physics is preparing us to accept the idea not only of multiple worlds like our own in the universe, but multiple universes and dimensions in which we relate.
